Encompassing 1,100 acres, surrounded by equestrian trails and breathtaking open space that offers beautiful views of the Blue Ridge foothills. Once a private estate owned by 1950’s radio host Arthur Godfrey, Beacon Hill offers a unique blend of private country living and easy access to diverse employment and shopping opportunities and just 15 minutes from Dulles Airport and the leading east coast technology corridor.
At the heart of the community, The Golf Club of Virginia at Beacon Hill was conceived in 2001 as a premier and luxury club to match the exquisite residential real estate. Johnnie Miller was the original architect of record for the demanding and ever-challenging 27-hole layout encompassing 330 acres that included elevation changes of some four hundred feet and constant moving water across the parcel. The projected membership base was the nation’s wealthiest, and at the time commanded the highest initiation fees in the Washington, DC area. After five-years of a struggling operation, the club was forced to close.
Today, Resort Development Partners is in the process of restoring Beacon Hill, while providing tremendous value to all residents and future members-truly a preservation initiative. The Company expects to invest into the redevelopment of an 18-hole course with the redesign completed by world renowned architect, Tom Clark, this facility is strategically positioned to mirror or exceed the member experience currently offered at some of the most reputable internationally acclaimed clubs in the market.
